Element Games, Are You Kidding Me?

I'm beginning to feel like Element Games might be playing something of a joke on me...

A few weeks ago I had some trouble getting an order delivered by UPS, long story short I asked Element to never send me anything with them in future... they apologised for the missing shipment (it wasn't missing just much delayed and finally arrived) and sent me a replacement... Via UPS.

I wanted to continue using Element as it wasn't their fault, though their customer service team didn't seem to read my emails properly, and while I vowed to never buy spray paint off them again to try to avoid the UPS debacle recurring, I was still happy to order with them. So I ordered some 40k books that are due out this weekend.

I expected Element would send them via Royal Mail. No spray paint here so no reason why not. I just got a confirmation email. They'll be with me on Monday... they're shipping via UPS.

What. The. Fuck.

And to rub some salt into the wound, my friend Rob ordered the same books on the same day also from Element. His order is being delivered Saturday. His order is being delivered by Amazon logistics. Amazon being the only company that can deliver to my address without fail because they call me and tell me they are here and I come to collect the parcel - which is all I wanted UPS to do alas that was too much for them. Royal Mail don't even manage that (but at least they have a local sorting office I can collect my missed parcels from.)

Dare I complain once more? Or will they send me more stuff I do not need? Perhaps I should wait and see how long it takes them this time, so I can start the letter of complaint in big bold letters with "IT'S OK I DID GET THE ITEM but..." I just want them to stop using UPS. I still have an order outstanding with them from February, waiting on some specialist bits annoyingly. I don't want to wait months for that parcel only for UPS to make me wait weeks longer...

  1. That sucks. I've got my own delivery woes at the moment. Still waiting on my Indomitus box to arrive. I hope it does, as I've missed the window to order another one.

    1. Well by stroke of luck this particular UPS driver must have been special, as he possessed a mobile phone so was able to call me on the number I left pinned to the door. He also presumably had been issued with a van, as he arrived on the day he was supposed to arrive. A remarkable improvement in service from UPS, you'd almost think they deliver things for a living...

It does seem silly to make the core starter box for your entire game system be a one off item... are they losing money on the core set? Seems unlikely but that's the only reason I can think of to NOT have a starter set on general sale through the year...
